Wallaces Cave

30 Minute Walk

Venture to the cave where William Wallace is rumoured to of hidden from the English. This hidden location is only a 30 minute walk to reach from our lodges. Situated on the River Avon, this scenic spot is great for outdoor lovers and makes for great instagrammable shots!

Almondell & Calderwood

25 Minute Drive

Open all year & free to visit, Almondell & Calderwood is tucked out of sight in the valley of the River Almond, stretching for 1.5 miles between Broxburn & East Calder.

Cockerleroy Hill

10 Minute Drive

A great hiking destination. Cockleroy is a prominent hill that is part of Beecraigs Country Park. The hill is one of the highest points in Bathgate Hills and rises to a height of 278 metres, it is also topped by a trig point and a geographical view point.

Cairnapple Hill

10 Minute Drive

Cairnpapple Hill is a hill with a dominating position in central lowland Scotland with views from coast to coast. It was used and re-used as a major ritual site for around 4000 years, and in its day would have been comparable to better known sites like the Standing Stones of Stenness.

Beecraigs

Beecraigs Country Park is a great place to visit. It caters for a wide range of leisure and recreational activities within its 370 hectares (913 acres) and can be discovered nestled high in the Bathgate Hills near the historic town of Linlithgow.

Blackness Castle

Linlithgow Palace

Kelpies

20 Minute Drive

The Kelpies are a pair of monumental steel horse-heads between the Scottish towns of Falkirk and Grangemouth. They stand next to the M9 motorway and form the eastern gateway of the Forth and Clyde Canal, which meets the River Carron here. Each head is 30 metres high

Muiravonside Country Park

Muiravonside is Falkirk’s only Country Park, providing 170 acres of stunning woodland and parkland, a mini demonstration farm, a sculpture trail and a children’s play area.

The city of Edinburgh is only an hour drive away. Edinburgh is Scotlands capotal and is full of attractions and great stuff to see. Great for the Christmas Market in winter and the famous Edinburgh festival in August.
